Le joint MLS Cometic est composé de trois à cinq couches d'acier inoxydable. Cometic utilise l'acier inoxydable pour sa résistance accrue, sa capacité de rappel élastique et sa résistance à la corrosion. Les couches extérieures du joint sont gaufrées et recouvertes sur les deux faces d'un matériau en caoutchouc Viton, conçu pour répondre aux exigences d'une variété d'environnements d'étanchéité difficiles, de conditions de charge et de finitions de surface. Le revêtement en Viton résiste à la chaleur jusqu'à 250 °C ou 482 °F.
