Composé de plusieurs couches gaufrées en acier inoxydable, les couches extérieures bénéficiant d'un revêtement en caoutchouc Viton. L'épaisseur en fonctionnement compressé est de 0,030". Côté gauche. Les joints de culasse Cometic MLS (Multi-Layer Steel) offrent une performance d'étanchéité maximale pour les moteurs hautes performances actuels et ne nécessitent aucun produit d'étanchéité. Les joints MLS sont idéaux pour les blocs en fonte comme pour les blocs en aluminium, avec des culasses en aluminium. Ils peuvent résister à la force de cisaillement créée par les deux matériaux. Les joints MLS possèdent une résistance accrue car ils sont composés de plusieurs couches d'acier inoxydable, ce qui leur confère également la capacité de rebondir et de résister à la corrosion. Les couches extérieures sont gaufrées et revêtues sur les deux faces de Viton (un matériau à base de caoutchouc fluoré élastomère résistant à la chaleur jusqu'à 250 °C / 482 °F). Le Viton est conçu pour répondre aux exigences d'une variété d'environnements d'étanchéité difficiles, de conditions de charge et de finitions de surface. La couche centrale ou de calage est en acier inoxydable non revêtu, et peut varier pour répondre à de multiples exigences d'épaisseur.
